Ed Choice

1. The FY25 EdChoice application period opens on February 1, 2024.


2. For returning EdChoice students, complete the FY25 EdChoice Scholarship Renewal Form and return it to your school's office, along with a copy of a current utility bill - all pages! - as proof of address. Returning students do not need to re-submit a birth certificate. Returning students are nor required to re-submit Income Verification.


3. For all new K-8 students, complete the FY25 EdChoice Scholarship Request Form and return it to your school's office, along with a copy of a current utility bill - all pages! - as proof of address. If you uploaded your child's birth certificate during enrollment, then you do not need to submit an additional copy.


4. The first question on the Request Form states: This application is for a (select one): Traditional EdChoice Scholarship or EdChoice Expansion Scholarship (income based). Please check the 2024-2025 Designated School List to see if you would qualify for Traditional EdChoice. You can verify your Columbus public school assignment by visiting the enrollment area of the Columbus City Schools website. If you do not qualify for Traditional EdChoice, then you will apply for the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship and you must also complete the Income Verification process. The amount of your EdChoice award will be based on your income.


Income Notes:

- For Renewal students, you do not need to have your income re-verified each year. However, if your income has decreased since the previous year, you may submit a new Income Verification application, to see if you qualify for an increased level of EdChoice award.


- If your income is below 200% of the federal poverty level, you will not be charged any amount of tuition above the amount of the EdChoice award. Please check this chart to see if you qualify. If so, please submit the Income Verification application online.
